Echoes of Diwali

Diwali Of Today
Epoch of mirth and divinity,
Spirits are soaring, filled with glee,
Memories and nostalgia encompass,
Comraderies and love amass.
The petrichor of freshly rinsed lamps,
Aroma of delicacies waft,
Fragrant flowers surround,
The signature festive olfaction abound.
Fervor starts with brooms in hand,
Families bond, lives blend,
Laughters echo, lores are retrieved,
That closeness is all you need.
Now I think how times have changed,
Have we turned into guests?
Who go for a day or two,
All those moments go poof.
As you adult it's more about the festival,
For peace and connections spiritual,
Crackers aren't as fun, sweets not as tasty,
Earthen lamps and chitchat become specialties.
I reflect upon this newfound maturity,
How the definition changed for festivities,
But the essence remains constant,
Love and success are for what diwali is meant.
